On December 27, the inaugural Beijing College Students “AI+” Innovation Competition, themed “Igniting Youthful Creativity, Empowering an Intelligent Future,” concluded successfully. Hosted by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and organized by Beijing University of Technology, the competition aligned with the cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence and Beijing’s strategic priorities. Over 11,000 undergraduate students from more than 50 universities participated.

Through a rigorous internal selection process, five outstanding teams were recommended to advance to the municipal finals. Demonstrating solid technical foundations, innovative design concepts, and exceptional on-site performance, all five teams won awards among the 222 finalists—securing one first prize, two second prizes, and two third prizes—an impressive achievement that fully reflects BCU’s effectiveness in AI talent development and its vibrant culture of innovation.
This competition highlighted the practical outcomes of BCU’s AI-focused general education and provided a valuable platform for students and faculty to unlock creative potential and enhance hands-on capabilities. Moving forward, BCU will leverage this momentum to further explore innovative applications of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, cultivating more high-quality talents equipped for the demands of the new era.
